Questions you May Ask
The question I am asked most frequently is "where do you get your woods"? I chuckle and reply, "wherever I can find them". I use locally harvested hardwoods when available. However, most of my woods are purchased from regional commercial suppliers.
WHAT ARE MY WOOD SPECIES CHOICES?
Each piece is crafted from your choice of woods. I work with most commercially available North American hardwoods and some exotic species. I would be pleased to consult with you regarding wood selection.
HOW LONG WILL A PROJECT TAKE?
Most items can be completed in 3-4 weeks once design and wood selection have been finalized. Depending on work load ( I work alone ) and time of year, there may be some delay. Please contact me if you need an estimated completion date.
WHAT FINISH IS USED?
My finish of choice is generally three coats of a hand-rubbed oil varnish which is non-toxic once dried. Maintain the finish with a good quality clear paste floor wax, mineral oil, walnut oil or lemon oil.
HOW DO I ORDER?
You may choose from any of the items in the portfolio or I would be pleased to work with you on a design concept of your own. Orders may be placed by phone or e-mail. I generally ship via UPS or USPS. Most items in the portfolio may be made in your choice of woods and the dimensions may be varied within limits so as not to affect appearance. Dimension changes may affect pricing.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?
I accept most major credit cards. Payment is due when the item is shipped. I request 50% advance payment on special orders. Applicable sales tax and shipping charges will be added.
